Research Team Visits the Hope For HumaNS Care Center

Dr. Peter Spencer and Valerie Palmer from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, are leading a team in Northern Uganda investigating the cause of Nodding Syndrome. Dr. Spencer is world renowned for his work in environmental health, has authored over 375 papers, and is the founding member of and longstanding advisor to the African Society for Toxicological Scientists. Dr. Spencer and his team were recently in Tumangu, Kitgum district doing extensive investigative work of the local environment with an emphasis on finding potential neuro-toxins in food or water sources.
